Indoor Tennis at Campden Hill Lawn Tennis Club

Founded in 1884, Campden Hill LTC rapidly grew in popularity due in part to the public interest generated by the very first Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships in 1877.

Situated on Aubrey Walk in Kensington, London W8, this club is just south of Holland Park Avenue, and just north-east of Holland Park. Notting Hill Gate tube station (Central Line, District Line, Circle Line) is just minutes away.

Campden Hill LTC boasts six indoor tennis courts (Plexicushion surface) and six outdoor courts (artificial grass). Up until 2001 all the courts were outdoor, before the major refurbishment of 2001-2002.

This highly-prized private tennis club has over a thousand members, and the waiting list is currently closed. Indoor tennis courts in London are highly sought-after, hence the club’s popularity.

The club has quite a history. During the Second World War, an anti-aircraft gun was stationed on one of the club’s tennis courts to fend of the Luftwaffe. Members continued to play on the other courts throughout the war.

Address: 9 Aubrey Walk, Kensington, London W8 7JH.
